ElevenLabs co-founder and CEO Mati Staniszewski backs that voice is clearly a contender too as a robust AI interface, and noted that there are different ways to think about how voice-driven AIs can operate.

One breakthrough that’s within reach is voice AI that translates conversations into different languages in real time, with the proper intonations that a speaker would convey. He was confident that voice AI will be the way we interact with our robot assistants in the future, since “there’s no other interface” to do it with. He predicted that more than 50% of customer support calls will be handled by voice AI agents in as little as 18 months.
